Host families open their homes to one or two students for a three weeks in the summer, or to one or two students for a Semester or an Academic School Year. Semester and Academic School Year students come on a J-1 VISA and will attend high school where the host family lives. Students on all programs have health insurance and spending money.
Hosts can be single adults over the age of 25, couples with or without children, or even empty nesters. There is no maximum age limit for hosting.
Hosts provide three meals a day, transportation, and nurturing. Students must have their own bed but can share a room with a sibling of the same gender and approximate age.
Students come to share their culture, to learn about American culture, and to improve their English speaking skills.
